There are several reasons why an online card payment may not go through. In most cases, checking your payment details or completing your bank's security checks will resolve the problem.
Check Your Card and Billing Details
Please check that:
Your card number, expiry date and CVV/security code are correct
Your card is active and has not expired
Your billing address matches the address registered to your card
Your postcode or ZIP code is entered correctly
If your delivery and cardholder addresses are different, make sure you are using the cardholder address for your billing information.
Complete Your Bank's Security Check
Your bank may ask you to complete a 3D Secure (3DS) check before approving your payment.
This may involve your banking app, a one-time passcode or another verification step. If the check is not completed successfully, your payment may fail.
Troubleshooting a Failed Payment
If your payment is still not going through, try:
Checking that pop-ups are not being blocked
Refreshing the page and entering your details again
Using another browser or device
Trying another available payment method
Check With Your Bank
If your details are correct but the payment continues to fail, please contact your bank or card provider. They may have declined the transaction for security reasons or need you to authorise the payment.
